Trinidad and Tobago Women got off to a solid start in the CG Insurance Super50 Cup by beating Leeward Islands by eight wickets yesterday at the National Stadium, Providence.
Batting first, Leewards posted 132 for eight from their allotted 50 overs while Trinidad reached 134 for two with 90 balls to spare. Leewards were reduced to 13 for four as Kirbyina Alexander ripped through the top order with 3-20 but Shawnisha Hector resisted with a gritty knock of 46 from 60 balls. The left hander struck seven boundaries and added 52 for the fifth wicket with Arsheena Freeman (03) before being run out.
