It was an evening of goals as Slingerz FC, Den Amstel and Uitvlugt recorded commanding wins in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Senior Men’s League on Sunday at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.
Slingerz FC brushed aside No. #1 All-Stars by a 12-0 score. Deon Alfred led the carnage with five conversions in the in the 11th, 26th, 51st, 56th and 78th minute.
He was supported by doubles from Ricardo Halley in the 32nd and 38th minute and Matrim Martin in the 48th and 58th minute. Adding one goal each in the fifth, 28th and 65th minute apiece were Jamal Perreira, Leo Lovell and Samuel Garnett.
Similarly, Den Amstel crushed Belle West 10-0. Tyreek Grant recorded a helmet trick in the 70th, 79th, 85th and 87th minute, with Anthony Benn tallying a brace in the 21st and 71st minute.
Contributing goals in the sixth, 29th, and 42nd minute respectively were Gideon Payne, Malcolm Miggins and Lavaughn Enniss. Adding to the score in the 51st minute was an own goal.
Likewise, Uitvlugt dismantled Wales 9-0. Kevis Fraser registered a hat trick in the 37th, 65th, and 84th minute, while sibling Kevin Fraser fashioned a double in the first and 24th minute.
The trident of Shamar Smith, Daniel Floy and Clem Brotherson found the back of the net in the fifth, 55th and 72nd minute respectively. Adding to the score in the 40th minute was an own goal.
Meanwhile, Pouderoyen laboured to a 2-1 win over Eagles. Kayode King and Demelro Osborne etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the 23rd and 36th minute correspondingly.
Dwayne St. Kitts was shown a red card in the 53rd minute for violent conduct as Pouderoyen was forced to play the remainder of the contest with 10 players. Nashawn Livan eventually recorded a consolation goal for Eagles as he netted in the 64th minute.
