Queen’s College, Covent Garden, the Bishops’ High, and Christ Church recorded wins when the National School Basketball Festival (NSBF) Boy’s Pre-Season tour continued Sunday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Queen’s College downed D-UP Academy of Tuschen 38-21. Francois Myers recorded a double-double of 10 points and as many rebounds, with Owen Hooper registering 10 points and eight steals. Adding 10 points in the win was Ezekiel Griffith. On the other side, Jaden Moses and Daniel Williams scored six points apiece.
Similarly, Covent Garden defeated Friendship Secondary 23-6. Jonathan Giddings led the rout with 13 points, while Samuel Inniss added six points. For the loser, Amari Harlequin netted five points.
The Bishops’ High squeaked past Chase Academy 20-17. Keyan Mars amassed figures of nine points and 10 rebounds, while Ayden Dons chipped in with seven points. For Chase Academy, Paul Emmanuel netted 12 points and nine rebounds.
Likewise, Christ Church downed North Georgetown 23-17. Kaomi Huntley recorded 15 points in the win. For North Georgetown, Glaswyn Bruntis tallied nine points.
In the Girls Division, Queen’s College bested Marian Academy 6-2. The trio of Ciara Solomon, Althea Allicock, and Alisande Jaiserisingh scored two points apiece. For the loser, Angel Ramjaram netted Marian Academy’s only points.
The event will continue on Friday in Berbice, before resuming in Linden and Georgetown on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The NSBF is pencilled in to start July 1st.
