Guyana’s first-class all-rounder, Bhaskar Yadram registered an unbeaten double ton Sunday in the Commonwealth Cricket League 2022 to lead Pak Punjab to a 193-run win over NY Finest.
Playing at Flushing Ground, NY won the toss and inserted Punjab who piled up 294 for five from their full 30-over quota. NY Finest managed just 101 before being bowled out in 22.4 overs.
The powerful 22-year-old right-hander, smashed 17 sixes along with 15 fours during his 106-ball, 207 not out.
Yadram started off as a spectator in the opening partnership with his countryman, Trevon Griffith, who raced to 27 from 11 balls during the 36-run stand before he was caught and bowled by Bablu Singh (1-29).
The Everest Cricket Club opener, Yadram, then accelerated with a 70-run stand with Sal Sayed who made just seven before he was trapped leg before wicket by Rocky Singh.
Singh also removed Mohammad Umar and Kevin Ramdeen cheaply to end with 3-49 but Yadram added 114 runs for the fifth wicket with Usman Iftikhar who was run out for 10.
Lalla Wajid then joined in the excitement with an unbeaten 21-run cameo that came from 16 balls and featured two sixes and one four.
NY Finest never got going as Umar rocked the batting line up early to end with 3-9. He was supported by Wajid, Ramdeen and Muhammad Qamar who took two wickets each.
Mohit Sharma top scored with 20 while Waqas Mazhar (18), Jugchananpreet Singh (12) and Manpreet Singh (10 not out) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures.
