Guyana Women booked a place in the semi-finals of the Cricket West Indies CG Insurance Women’s Super50 Cup after beating Leeward Islands Women by eight wickets yesterday.
In the final match of the preliminary round, Leewards won the toss and opted to bat first but could only scrape a sub-par 76 all out from 29.5 overs. Guyana, in reply, reached 77 for two in 14.3 overs.
Opening bowlers, Tremayne Smartt and Cherry-Ann Fraser rocked the order early, at one point reducing Leewards to 9-3 which progressed to 18-7 by the 22nd over.
