Family and friends of Quindon Bacchus, the youth who was recently killed by a policeman, staged a protest outside of the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters, Eve Leary yesterday to demand justice. Approximately 20 persons participated in the protest, which later grew when it moved to in front of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to the protestors, they need answers in relation to the status of the matter. The police had said Bacchus, a father of one, was killed during an alleged shootout with a policeman two Fridays ago at the Haslington New Scheme, East Coast Demerara. The shooter was subsequently placed under close arrest and the police have said the Police Complaints Authority would be investigating the death.
