Dell Superbet in come-from-behind win

Dell Superbet, Lack Ah Scene, and Red Force advanced to the quarterfinal round, when the Mocha Village Cup continued on Tuesday evening at the Basketball Tarmac.

Dell Superbet came from behind to defeat Strike Force 2-1. Orville Stewart handed Strike Force the initial lead, converting from the penalty spot, after the final defender was caught in the penalty box in his attempt to deny a strike.

However, Amos Ramsay equalised moments later, uncorking a powerful strike from the left side which settled into the left corner. The come-from-behind result was then sealed when Raushan Ritch rifled a right footed effort into the left corner.

Meanwhile, Red Force bested Road Warriors 2-1. Kelvin Gordon and Orin James etched their names on the scorer’s sheet for the eventual victors. On target in the loss was Jakeel Cadogan. Also, Lack Ah Scene squeaked past TopMan Squad by a 1-0 score.

The experienced Sheldon Holder made his presence, as he converted to seal his team’s place in the next round. Lyliton Ramsay, coordinator of the tournament during a brief comment said, “The knockout round will resume on Thursday (today), with matches also scheduled for Saturday. The final will be hosted on July 3rd.”

Over $700,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs in the competition which is currently in its third iteration. The event is sponsored by the Guinness Brand, Hungry Helpers, and the Mocha Arcadia NDC.
