The body of a missing woman, Anisa Miguel was discovered at around 10:30 am today floating in the Mazaruni River in Region Seven.
According to a release from the police, Commander for Regional Police Division #7, Dion Moore said ranks from his division acted on information received and went to Baboon Island, Middle Mazaruni River where they observed a body afloat, face down. The body was later identified as that of Miguel.
The body is in an advanced state of decomposition. It was taken to the Enachu Police Station where it awaits transportation to Georgetown for an autopsy.
The area where the body was found is approximately four miles away from Martin’s Landing from where she was reported missing.
