The Guyana Tennis Association (GTA) and the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) will continue its two-decade long partnership when the GBTI Open 2022 serves off on July 3.
According to a release, the tournament starts July 3 and finishes July 17 at the Bel Air Park GBTI courts.
The opening ceremony is set for 4pm on Friday.
The categories are Boys and Girls U-18, Ladies and Gentlemen Open, Over 35, Over 45, Novice, Ladies Open Doubles, Gentlemen Open Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Last year’s male champion was Mexican Miguel Garcia and female champion Guyanese Cristy Campbell.
Public Relations and Marketing Manager of GBTI, Pamela Binda-Pryce recently handed over the sponsorship cheque to Cristy Campbell, President of Guyana Tennis Association at the Bank’s head office in Kingston.
The tourney started in the early 90s but there was a hiatus and then resumed in the 2000s.
