Dear Editor,
The North/South Ruimveldt/Festival City flooding and drainage woes can be likened to the City Hall restoration: when it became an indictment and could no longer be ignored steps were taken in meaningful and tangible ways to restore. Just so with the flooding woes, with impromptu walkabouts and evening meetings with the residents and millions earmarked for works.
For too long residents in these communities have lived with and suffered this distressing situation. It is high time measures be taken to actively deal with the problem in meaningful ways.
It is hoped the promised grand plan to alleviate the flooding woes will be realized in the shortest possible time.
Yours faithfully,
Shamshun Mohamed
