A fatal accident yesterday afternoon at Silver Hill, Soesdyke-Linden Highway has claimed the life of a pedestrian.
Twenty-eight-year-old Steven Dhanbeer of La Bonne Intention (LBI), East Coast Demerara (ECD) was struck down by a truck just around 5 pm.
Police in a report said that Dhanbeer was crossing the road from west to east when the motor lorry, GNN 1385 with trailer TJJ 3014 struck him.
The driver, Threon Dash, a 27-year-old of 120 Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara was taken into custody.
