Aroima, Linden Technical Institute (LTI), the Bishops’ High, and President’ College clinched wins when the Youth Basketball Guyana coordinated National Schools Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued yesterday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Aroima upset seven-time winners Kwakwani 47-45. Kelon Phillips top scored in the unlikely result with figures of 30 points, and five rebounds. Assisting with nine points was Colin Phillips. For Kwakwani, Travis Lewis scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, five-time champions LTI brushed aside St. Rose’s High 35-23. Jemol Semple led the Lindeners with figures of 10 points and seven rebounds whilst Dale Sauers added seven points, 11 rebounds, and seven steals. For the losers, Chad Martin netted six points.
Similarly, the Bishops’ High downed Government Technical Institute 38-26. Mattias Arrindell amassed 12 points, and four rebounds, whilst Jaden Howard supported with 10 points, and six rebounds. For GTI, Ozasi Benjamin tallied 12 points, and seven rebounds.
On the other hand, President’s College edged Bartica 30-23. Ronaldo Vaughn registered 10 points, and five rebounds in the win, with Kemol Mentore recorded seven points, and as many rebounds. On the other side, Ron Cumberbatch scored eight points, and five rebounds.
