Michael Sampson, Aliya Wong and Yusuf Khan shone the brightest under the lights of the Berbice High School auditorium when the Intermediate and Mr. Berbice Bodybuilding Championships was staged on Saturday evening.
The trio posed and flexed their way to the spoils of bodybuilding, Ms. Bikini and Men’s Physique titles, mirroring their Novices victories last year in Linden.
Clad in a red and black posing trucks, Sampson out flexed and out posed the competition to be awarded the accolade of Intermediate Bodybuilding Champion 2022.
Sampson, of Pro-Fit Boot Camp, was the biggest and among the sharpest athletes on stage. He also earned the Mr. Berbice accolade.
Ms. Bikini
Wong, a standout from the Unity Gym was the near perfect mix of muscularity, symmetry, beauty and style and took home the spoils for the category ahead of her worthy opponent, Marlyn Thomas.
The confident 21 year-old will now have her sights set on perhaps the flagship National Seniors Championships and even Regional competitions later this year.
She is definitely one you should be keeping your eye on in this 2022 season and beyond.
Men’s Physique
The judges awarded the Men’s Physique showdown trophy to her gym mate, Khan ahead of fellow gym athlete, Sweet Sajar.
Khan clad in an eye catching orange board shorts brought the shape and stage presence the judges most wanted to see.
The event which was held with a boisterous viewing audience, was sponsored by Fitness Express and the Trophy Stall.
