The Cricket West Indies Women’s U19 Rising Stars T20 championships got underway yesterday with Guyana beating Barbados by nine wickets at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex, Trinidad and Tobago.
With scattered showers reducing the match to 15 overs per side, Guyana won the toss and inserted Barbados who managed 62 for three from their quota. Guyana then reached 63 for one with 26 balls to spare.
Barbados were off to a good start with Zaliya Campbell hitting three boundaries during her top score of 17 from 27 balls before being trapped leg before wicket by Realeanna Grimmond.
