The markings of rocks in the Essequibo and Mazaruni Rivers have commenced, the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) says.
A MARAD release said that this forms part of the Construction of Beacons (Concrete – Small) Upper Essequibo River.
The markings of the rocks are critical in identifying those that are potential risks to navigation.
MARAD says that contracts for this project were awarded to K&K Construction and Hardware Supplies, and Jemcorp Engineering & Imports.
The contractors will undertake Lots 1 & 2 of the project respectively, in the Essequibo River.
