The Ministry of Health yesterday reported that one more person has succumbed to COVID-19, taking the country’s death toll from the virus to 1,259.
The latest fatality was identified as a 55-year-old man of Region Seven, Cuyuni-Mazaruni. The ministry said in a press release that the man died on July 7 and was reportedly unvaccinated.
Meanwhile, according to the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard, 91 new COVID-19 cases were recorded after 708 tests were conducted. Region One recorded 3 of those new cases, Region Two 9 cases, Region Three 5, Region Four 58, Region Five 1, Region Seven 6 cases, Region Nine 5, and Region Ten with 4 cases.
The updated dashboard also showed that 4 persons were in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 35 were in institutional isolation and 801 in home isolation.
