Dear Editor,
Guyana is paying Exxon’s tax, and gov’t is taking 20% of our interest we get from our bank savings as withholding tax. We already pay PAYE, and to take withholding tax is DOUBLE taxation on the poor people. Guyana can afford to stop taking withholding tax, or at least stop taking it from pensioners, or do you need our money to pay Exxon’s tax?
