GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – All-rounder Keemo Paul is out of the three-match one-day series against Bangladesh after testing positive for COVID-19.
He was pulled from last Thursday’s final Twenty20 International after complaining of flu-like symptoms and remained at the team hotel to be tested.
The 24-year-old Paul has been replaced in the 13-man squad by fellow Guyanese fast-bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd who had been named as a reserve.
Paul featured in the second T20 International at Windsor Park last Sunday, sending down a single over which cost nine runs as West Indies beat Bangladesh by 35 runs.
A former West Indies Under-19, Paul had only just returned to the West Indies set up after recovering from injury, turning out in the third and final One-Day International against Pakistan in Multan last month.
He has played three Tests, 20 ODIs and 21 T20Is.
