Aroaima will battle President’s College in the U18 grand finale, Kid-Rock Academy will oppose President’s College in the U16 final and Queen’s College will tackle Kwakwani in the Girls divisional finale following semi-final wins in the ExxonMobil National Schools Basketball Festival (NSBF).
Staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue, Aroaima brushed aside Linden Technical Institute (LTI) 52-20. Kelon Phillips registered 15 points and had five rebounds in the lopsided clash, Kemol Grimmond scored 13 points and had six rebounds and Kasim English netted 10 points.
For the losers, Ninion Vincent bagged 12 points and had nine rebounds. In another fixture, President’s College destroyed Bishops’ High 49-10. Ronoko Vaughn scored 12 points and had five rebounds, whilst Kemol Mentore tallied nine points and six rebounds. For the losers, Mattias Arrindell netted five points.
In the U16 Boys section, Kid-Rock Academy edged Bishops’ High 24-23. Elisah Roberson netted 11 points and five had rebounds and Stephen George fashioned six points and five rebounds. For the losers, Yaniel Easton amassed eight points and had six rebounds.
In the second semi-final of the division, President’s College dismantled Chase Academy 35-4. Dejaun Grant crafted 14 points and pulled down five rebounds in the rout while Ezekiel Saul contributed six points and had eight rebounds.
In the Girl’s division, Queen’s College and Kwakwani will contest the final following semi-final victories. Queen’s College bested Marian Academy 12-9. Alisande Jaiserisingh registered six points, and five steals while Cianna Barkoye added four points and five rebounds.
For the losers, Angel Rajaram tallied four points and five steals. In the second semi-final match, Kwakwani dismissed GT Academy 30-15. Shania Sears tallied 13 points, and seven rebounds with Natalya Clarke registering 12 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.
