Land preparation for the construction of the approximate 300 private waterfront residences at Madewini on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway is expected to be completed in two years.
The Ashmins Group of Companies officially launched the $2.5 Billion project yesterday at the Marriott Hotel. A beachfront hotel and an array of modern amenities are also part of the project, but according to coordinator Joel Cole, this will start in three years.
He said even though the preparation of all the land will take an approximate 24 months, persons who have purchased lots can start building when their plots are ready. While, owners can design and build their houses, it must be in keeping with the aesthetics of Madewini Waterfront Villas.
According to Cole, Madwini Waterfront Villas will be a gated community, where visitors would have to check with security before entering. There would be armed lake and land patrols. Residents would be part of a Home Owners Association as soon as a purchase is made.
Cole stated that interested persons can make purchases online at the Madewini Waterfront Villas website. However, he was unable to say how much a lot will cost. He told Stabroek News that they were still working out the details.
The new development is the second phase of the existing Madewini villas, located within the Splashmins Resort compound.
According to Cole, head of the Ashmins Group, Lennox John always had a vision to create “a waterfront luxury community destination” in Guyana that is just 10 minutes from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA). John, at the launching, thanked his creditors for enabling him to make his vision a reality.
