Dear Editor,
I must say that I am flabbergasted and enraged at the blatant bigotry that was allowed to be published by one Dr. Jerry Jailall, in the Sunday Stabroek 11th July 2022 Edition, Letters to the Editor section, to the point where I have to wonder if someone can really be such a heartless individual. Let me expand on why I say this by asking how a man can go and say blatant lies and misconceptions about the LGBT Community. Where is the evidence that these groups are “forcing” everyone to be like them? And trying to steal the minds and innocence of children? What is the basis for these unwarranted attacks by Mr. Jailall?
Editor, there are so many issues that are present in Guyana and indeed Dr. Jailall has been commenting on these issues to a great extent, but the fact of the matter is, what two consenting adults do in their bedrooms is none of his business. Every day these people go through so much torment, so much hate, so much agony from the likes of Dr. Jailall and others, their crime? Just being themselves and living a normal life.
Is Dr. Jailall so offended by this? It’s time for people like him to free themselves from mental slavery, and that of their true oppressors. I say this as a straight binary man looking out for my LGBTQIA+ Brothers and Sisters.
