Patrons have a last opportunity to view Link Show 36 tonight and tomorrow evening at the National Culture Centre.
The 36th edition of the show opened on the weekend of July 1 and was held over last weekend as well.
The Link Show started in November 1981 but missed a few years during its 41-year lifespan and is now in its 36th production.
It is the longest running theatrical production and has “unreservedly attracted the largest theatre audience in Guyana’s history, with Link Show 25 running for 16 performances in the 2,000-seat National Cultural Centre and 9 performances… in Berbice, Linden and Essequibo,” a release from the producers had said recently.
The release had said Director Ron Robinson and Co-Producer Gem Madhoo-Nascimento have assembled a team of many old timers and a few new faces. In the line-up are Mark Kazim, Mark Luke Edwards, Sean Thompson, Sean Budnah, Paul Budnah, Stephen Asif Mohamed, Lee Leung, Rovindra Persaud, Travis McKenzie, Carlvin Burnett, Link Show veteran from 1981 – Andre Wiltshire, Sonia Yarde, Simone Dowding, Sheron Cadogan-Taylor, Makini Thompson, Marissa Morgan, Alicia Charles and La Tisha DaSilva.
