President Irfaan Ali in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief, on Wednesday badged 67 new Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Officers, during a Commissioning Parade held in their honour, at the Drill Square, Base Camp Ayanganna.
A release from the GDF said that twenty-seven of the Officers have successfully completed the Standard Officer Course 53, while, forty professionals from the public and private sectors have successfully completed the Reserve Officer Course 17.
Four members of the Guyana Police Force and two members each from the Guyana Prison Service and the Guyana Fire Service, also successfully completed the Standard Officer Course 53.
Second Lieutenant Delano Roberts, a resident of Kabakaburi, Upper Pomeroon River graduated Best Student of the Standard Officer Course 53, while Second Lieutenant Marvin Richmond of Canvas City, Wismar Linden was the Best Graduating Student of the Reserve Officer Course 17, the release said.
