The body of an unidentified man was found in the wee hours of Friday morning along America Street, in Georgetown.
According to a Guyana Police Force (GPF) press release, the man’s body was found at 01:20hrs on Friday. He was clad in a black t-shirt and blue short pants.
The man, who was of East Indian descent, was said to be about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, medium built, brown in complexion and had short hair.
The release said that due to the discovery, a party of policemen from the Brickdam Police Station were summoned to the scene, which was processed and photographed by the Crime Scene Department of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters.
The man’s body was examined but no marks of violence were seen. The body was subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where the man was officially pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.
