Wartsila Operations Guyana has sponsored the equipment for Guyana’s male and female table tennis team which is set to compete at the Commonwealth Games in England later this month.
According to a press release the company has decided to sponsor based on a request the equipment for the four male and four female players who will wing out for Birmingham tomorrow.
According to the release, the players were requested to submit a list of the equipment they would need for the games and a budget was subsequently submitted to Wartsila Operations for approval.
Yesterday, at the Wartsila Operations Head Office, Wartsila Country Manager Duane Chase handed over the sponsors cheque to national coach Idi Lewis.
Also present were national players Joel Alleyne, Shemar Britton, Natalie Cummings, Thuraia Thomas and Priscilla Greaves.
