A Guyanese woman, Caroline Baird, 44, was shot and killed at Bush Hill, St Michael, Barbados, on Friday night.
The Barbados Nation on Saturday reported that Baird, of Dalkeith Hill, in the same parish, was identified by her 23-year-old son David George.
The police said that she died at the scene after a struggle with a number of people in a car around 11:15 p.m. on Friday.
Police say the incident occurred in an area situated at the rear of the Grand Stand of the Garrison Savannah.
With an investigation underway, the police on the island have appealed for public assistance.
