Horse cart operator remanded on armed robbery charge

A horse cart operator was yesterday remanded to prison after he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on a charge of armed robbery.

Twenty-two-year-old Malcolm House of Middle Road, La Penitence appeared before Magistrate Dylon Bess. The allegation against House states that on July 13th, at Front Road, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, whilst being in the company of another, and armed with a gun, he robbed Kelvin Butters of a gold chain valued $665,000, one Samsung cellular phone valued $210,000, $65,000 in cash, one wallet worth $5,000, along with a National Identification Card (ID) and a Police ID card. House pleaded not guilty to the charge and bail was refused by the Magistrate. The matter was then adjourned until August 15th, 2022 for statements.
