The Guyana Cricket Board has postponed its (GCB) Under-19 Inter-County two-day tournament because of the weather.
According to a release from the GCB, the decision was made to postpone the tournament owing to the unusual heavy and persistent rainfall over the past few days. The tournament, which got underway on July 20, was expected to be completed by August 2. However, only two rain affected matches at the LBI Cricket Facility were completed with Berbice defeating the Rising Stars XI by an innings and 31 runs in the first round while Demerara gained first innings points against Essequibo in the second round. A date for the recommencement of the tournament will be announced later, the release stated.
