Dear Editor,
It started with the announcement by Vice President Jagdeo of a payment to the “severed” sugar workers. Later, President Ali announced a grant to the “fish-less” fisher folk; and “gratuities” were extended to other categories in the society.
However, so far there has been no announcement of anything for the “terminated” public servants. They too have families and come from communities.
One wonders who in the political hierarchy will come forward to attend to their interests. Will it be the Prime Minister or the Minister of Governance? Let us wait and see.
Yours sincerely,
Rashleigh E. Jackson
