The governments of Guyana and Austria this afternoon turned the sod for the construction of Guyana’s first specialised Paediatric and Maternal Hospital.
The hospital will be constructed by VAMED, an Austria-based company which is a global provider for hospitals and other facilities in the healthcare sector.
The hospital is being constructed at a cost of €149M and will be constructed at Plots 7 and 8, Plantation Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara.
The low-rise facility will have 256 beds and will cover 24,000 square metres.
