West Demerara giant Den Amstel mauled Wales by an 8-1 scoreline when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Saturday evening at the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora.

In a match which featured a central official and one assistant referee, Malcom Miggins, and Kevaughn Ward led the rout with respective braces. Miggins tallied his conversions in the 13th and 54th minute while Ward made his presence felt in the 79th and 87th minute.

Adding to the scoreline in the 47th, 56th, 67th, and 81st minute respectively, were Kester Jacobs, Tyreek Grant, Antwoine Gill and Akeem Dublin. For Wales, Lexroy Manfield registered a consolation in the 62nd minute.

Meanwhile, Uitvlugt and Eagles played a 1-1 affair. The contest, which commenced more than 20 minutes later than its intended start time, featured only two official referees as the second assistant referee [linesman], was a civilian that was asked to serve in that capacity.

Nashawn Livan handed Eagles the lead in the fifth minute only for Kevis Fraser to equalise in the 62nd minute. The event continues on Wednesday at the same venue.

In the opening match, Pouderoyen will oppose No. #1 All-stars from 18:30hrs, while Slingerz will take aim at Crane Rovers at 20:30hrs.
