The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has issued a wanted bulletin for 30-year-old Alex Nedd, the prime suspect in the murder of Rodwell Philips, also known as ‘Fishie,’ 33, who was found hacked to death in the wee hours of Monday morning.
Nedd’s last known address is La Penitence Public Road, Georgetown.
According to the GPF, the body of Philips, of Broad Street, Charlestown, was found lying along the La Penitence Public Road with multiple chop wounds.
Enquiries have since revealed that the murder occurred between 00:30hrs and 01:00hrs on Monday.
When investigators visited the scene, the suspected murder weapon — a cutlass — was seen beside the dead man’s body.
Philips’ corpse had one chop wound to the centre of the chest, one chop wound to the right side of the face, one chop wound to the left side of the back and one chop wound to the left foot.
Philips was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Central Fire Station and his body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
