The road link between Quatatta and Yupukari in the Rupununi has almost been completely washed away and needs urgent repairs. This is according to a post and photos on Melanie McTurk’s Facebook page.
The development she said was a keen reminder to engineers that “when – we tel yuh – wata does pass here and you need culvert you NEED to listen”. She said that residents have been trying their best to slow the damage but help is needed now before it’s too late.
Last week, a section of the road near Surama collapsed leaving traffic on either side of the road backed-up.
