An 18-year-old north west labourer was murdered on Wednesday by two persons who beat and stabbed him.
According to police, two males are in custody in connection with the stabbing death of Jude Christino at Kumaka Water Front, Mabaruma, North West District.
Police said Christino and two males were seen arguing and as the teenager tried to run away, both males gave chase and started to beat him.
An eyewitness told police that one of the men then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in his neck, causing him to stumble and fall. They both then ran away leaving the victim lying motionless.
Police were summoned and Christino was escorted to the Mabaruma Regional Hospital where he was examined by Doctor Pierre who pronounced him dead on arrival. The body was placed in the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Two persons, according to police, have been arrested and are in custody assisting with investigations.
