The body of Romeo Persaud aka `Fineboy’ of Hog Island, Region Three was found floating this morning in the Essequibo River.
The body was discovered around 8 am today, a relative told this newspaper.
According to information, Persaud was last seen at Hog Island with his speedboat on Friday last. He had left to conduct business and relatives said he never returned.
Relatives said they suspected something was amiss when they started to call his phone and it went unanswered. They also checked with several relatives and no one had seen Persaud. It was then they thought to themselves that something had happened. The relative related that Persaud farmed and operated a speedboat for a living. He was a father of two and the eldest son for his parents.
Relatives are calling for a thorough investigation to be launched into Persaud’s death.
