Dear Editor,
The rallying cry for public servants in terms of salary increases in view of the prevailing economic circumstances is noble. But the rallying cry should ring out also for the pensioners and vulnerable groups among our populace. No NIS increase, small old age pension increase from state coffers while a supplementary sum is being sought from parliament, but has nothing for this group of persons. It does seem pensioners are the forgotten class with their needs glossed over. Don’t pensioners have a right to demand their cries be heard too?
Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
