Four men were on Monday arrested by the police after stolen cellphones and other electronics were found in their possession.
According to the police, between 10:00 am and 17:30 pm, police from Regional Division 4 A carried out a raid at Guyhoc/Plum Park. They conducted a search on a 25-year-old vendor of Block E South Sophia and his surroundings and found several cellphones suspected to be stolen in his possession. He was subsequently arrested.
Another search was also carried out in the same area which led to the discovery of three armed robbers, all of whom attempted to escape. However, the police pursued the trio and were able to arrest two of them. A search of the house revealed several stolen tablets, cellphones, and other electronics.
Meanwhile, in South Sophia, where another raid was carried out, the police arrested a man who attempted to ride away when he saw them and found two stolen flat screen televisions, a stereo set and other electronics at his residence.
The four were all taken to the Turkeyen Police Station where they are being kept in custody as investigations continue.
