Dear Editor,
Please allow me to highlight a practice that must cease immediately by the Deeds Registry. It appears that a stranger or lawyer can walk into the office of the Deeds Registry in Georgetown and obtain a copy someone’s transport without their consent.
Further, what is appalling is the collector of the transport was given the wrong transport he or she was seeking. The individual assumed it was the right transport which was then shared with a number of persons overseas. Both persons, the giver of the transport at the Deeds Registry and the taker erred in reading the transport deals which led to the person being notified that their transport was given to strangers. Isn’t this a breach of Deed Registry’s confidential transport information system? I would appreciate an answer from the Deeds Registry. Thank you.
Cordially,
Denise Murray
