If you are a fan of the ‘Sport of Kings’, then the place to be yesterday was the Rising Sun Turf Club to witness the 14th edition of the Guyana Cup, the nation’s biggest horse race meet.
The highly anticipated Jumbo Jet Thoroughbred Racing Stables (JJTRS) organized event, rose from the ashes of the pandemic after a two-year hiatus and did not disappoint.
In the feature Guyana Cup One-Mile race, Alado from the Master Z Racing Stables, rode away with the spoils with champion jockey, Colin Ross in the stirrups. Alado, a four year-old bay colt from the USA, came late and pulled away on the homestretch to earn the victory and the winner’s take. More details in a subsequent edition.
