A Perseverance man died after he was stabbed in the neck by another during a heated argument. The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Owen Young of Lot 494 Perseverance, East Bank Demerara (EBD). The suspects are in police custody.
According to a statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the stabbing occurred last Saturday at about 22:00hrs at Sorrell Drive, Perseverence. Investigations revealed that Young and the two suspects were conversing when they suddenly got into a heated argument. One of the suspects dealt the victim a stab to the right side of his neck, causing him to fall to the ground.
Young was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty. He was then taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where a post mortem examination is expected to be performed. It was further disclosed that two suspects turned themselves over to the police on Sunday in the company of their lawyer.
