The Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) staged its International Drag Race meet at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri yesterday.
Drivers from Trinidad and Tobago, the USA and of course Guyana were on show.
Team Mohamed reclaimed the drag strip’s overall fastest time yesterday using their Pro-Mod car, driven by Clint Satterfield. The new fastest time was recorded at 7.036s.
Prior to that on Saturday, T&T national Sheldon Bissessar in his ‘Spitzer Dragster’ rail car, bettered Team Mohamed’s previous best (7.501 seconds) with a 7.208 seconds run. The previous record (7.501s) was recorded by Terrence Cox driving the GTR Goliath (White).
The aim of the drivers from the Team Mohamed stable was to break into the six-second barrier. More details in a subsequent article.
