No accurate picture of COVID cases – Anthony

With only six new COVID-19 cases being recorded by the Ministry of Health after 100 tests were conducted, Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony yesterday admitted that there is not an “accurate” picture of how many persons are actually infected.

“This really is an underestimate… people are having signs and symptoms of COVID because they are not testing. And even when some of them do self-testing they are not reporting it. So we don’t have a very accurate picture of how many persons might have tested positive,” he said during Monday’s COVID-19 update.

According to the ministry’s updated COVID-19 dashboard, Region Two recorded 2 of the new cases, Region Four recorded 2, Region Six recorded 1 and Region Seven also recorded 1.

Meanwhile, the updated dashboard showed that 2 persons were in the COVID Intensive Care Unit, while 13 were in institutional isolation and 360 in home isolation.

The country’s death toll remained at 1,278.
