President of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), and architect of the Caribbean School Boys and Junior tournament, Steve Ninvalle, has informed that the overseas contingent of competing nations will begin to arrive on local shores from today, ahead of the event’s Friday commencement.
This was disclosed during a brief interview with Stabroek Sport yesterday. According to Ninvalle, “The foreign contingent will start arriving from tomorrow [today], and that includes Trinidad and Tobago, the Bahamas, and St. Lucia. All systems are in place to welcome them and have a tremendous tournament. We will be having the medical and official weigh-ins on Thursday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The first fight will be at 6pm on Friday evening.”
