Melanie defeated Buxton United by a 2-1 score-line when the East Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the Buxton Community Centre ground.
Anil Hernandez, and Teshawn Gordon found the back of the net in the 20th and 69th minute correspondingly. For the loser, Olashia Primo briefly equalised in the 40th minute.
Meanwhile Victoria Kings and Airy Hall battled to a 2-2 stalemate. Jason Rutherford and Dennis Blair scored in the 8th and 20th minute respectively. For Victoria Kings, Rayford Phyll scored in the 26th minute, while an own goal in the 80th minute levelled proceedings.
The tournament continues today at the same venue with another round of matches. At 19.00 hours, Mahaica Determinators will oppose Haslington, while Dynamic will battle Victoria Scorpions at 21.00 hours.
