A contract valued $64.9 million has been awarded to the Devcon Construction and Contracting Services for the rehabilitation of a sunken section of Lamaha Street, near the intersection with Irving Street, in Georgetown.
According to a Department of Public Information (DPI) report, the Minister of Public Works Juan Edghill has stated that the works are expected to be completed within a four-month timeframe, with construction commencing as early as Saturday.
“The part of Lamaha Street to Vlissengen Road that is sinking, the contract has already been awarded and that work should begin this week,” DPI quoted Edghill as saying.
