Dear Editor,
It is alarming and of great concern to learn of the daily incidence of motor vehicle accidents in all parts of the country. The high number of vehicles on our limited roadway network might be a contributing factor. Of course there are other factors such as DUI and speeding. Warning to drivers and other road users seem to go unheeded as the daily carnage continues. On the other hand, it was pure damn nonsense (borrowing that phrase again) to continue the race meeting in wet conditions resulting in a car flipping (GDN August 21). It brought back memories some years ago where a car ran off the track and into a crowd of spectators killing two children and injuring their mother.
