Diaspora always happy to show its solidarity for its beloved country of birth

Dear Editor,

The Association of Concerned Guyanese (ACG) held its annual picnic on the 20th August at Wildwood Park Mississauga, Ontario. It was a day filled with lots of events, including dancing competitions and raffle drawings. The President of the Association, Victor Yacoob, and other executive members were in attendance.

The purpose of the picnic was to bring Guyanese in Canada together for a day of interaction after two years of the pandemic. Many Guyanese from all walks of life and ethnic background attended. The weather on that day was good and the entertainment by a popular music DJ had many dancing to their favourite music.

The One Guyana mantra was prevalent, many people wore caps, T shirts and brooches depicting the One Guyana logo. Guyanese in the Diaspora are united and always happy to congregate to show their solidarity for their beloved country of birth. In all the event was a great success and all attendees were happy.

Sincerely,

Andrieko Basir
