Following quarterfinal victories on Wednesday evening, Hopetown will now oppose Rising Stars, while East Bank Gunners will take aim at Showtime in the semi-final round of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Berbice Championship tomorrow.
In the action that was staged at the Rosignol ferry tarmac, West Coast Berbice, Hopetown squeaked past Ithaca by a 3-2 score-line in the first quarterfinal fixture. And in the third match, Rising Stars overcame Rosignol 1-0.
Meanwhile, Showtime brushed aside All-Stars, 2-0, in the final encounter of the night. Their opponent and former champion East Bank Gunners, battled past Upsetters 1-0.
The semi-finals will be hosted at the Fort Wellington School tarmac. The resulting winners of the semi-final fixtures will progress to the final, with the losers competing in the third place playoff.
The eventual winner will earn an automatic berth in the Guinness National Championship.
