Dear Editor,
I was very sad, but not surprised, to see the resignation of Raphael Trotman from Parliament this week. He has not been well for a while. Raphael has served Guyana well as Speaker in turbulent times and as Minister of Natural Resources.
Now he is free of the omerta of Parliament, perhaps he will write the inside story of the 2016 PSA deal with ExxonMobil. Who did he take along as professional advisors? Why no on the ground diplomats in the party? How well prepared was the Guyana side?
How was he so easily rolled over by the oil giant? It is an intrigue that needs unwinding. I, for one, will be fascinated.
Sincerely,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’
