Nine young women between the ages of 16 and 25 years old from across the three sub-districts of Region Seven have been selected to vie for the title and crown in the first ever Miss Region Seven Amerindian Heritage Pageant.
The pageant, scheduled for the Bartica Community Centre Ground tomorrow, is being held under the theme ‘Showcasing Our Culture While Embracing Our True Identity’. Speaking to this newspaper last Thursday, Pageant Coordinator Candacy Williams explained that the young women were chosen from each district within the Cuyuni-Mazaruni region and were selected at random by the people of their villages.
